Representatives of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of the Fight Against Corruption (APIK) visited the Republic of Lithuania from October 28 to 31, 2024, as part of the EU Twinning Project "Strengthening the Capacities of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of the Fight Against Corruption."
During the visit, they visited the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Main Office of the Ethics Commission of the country. The hosts introduced APIK representatives to Lithuania's best anti-corruption practices and achievements, anti-corruption education programs they implement, whistleblower protection measures, conflict of interest management, as well as methods of raising public awareness and advanced analytical tools for data processing.
The study visit resulted in an exchange of conditions and opportunities for establishing effective mechanisms for the prevention and fight against corruption, with both sides expressing readiness to support and cooperate in upcoming activities foreseen by the Project.
The goal of the Project, funded by the European Union and led by the Italian Anti-Corruption Authority in partnership with the Special Investigation Service of Lithuania, is to improve the key technical and functional capacities of APIK to enable Bosnia and Herzegovina to adequately develop strategic anti-corruption policies.
